Are You Accepted or Rejected?

The Power of the Kingdom living life from the heart BookCoverImageHave you ever been rejected? What do you remember about that rejection? Rejection is one of the most powerful experiences that can paralyze your soul. Rejection is choosing to believe the opinion of another person, or group of people, over your own belief about yourself, or over what God believes about you. The truth about you is clearly given in God’s Word. The foundation for a healthy soul or psyche is the living Word of God.

The Living Word of God is the eternal good news. When the Apostle John was in heaven, he saw an angel having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth. Eternal truth transcends time and space, and exists from eternity. A message that began in eternity will be true throughout time and space. As a human, you believe that you can determine truth by the logical evaluation of evidence that is presented before you in the physical realm. Evidence can present fact to you but not necessarily be the truth.

The law of gravity that you experience on earth is what you may call a fact of nature. But when Jesus walked on the water, the truth transcended the law of gravity.

The law of sin and death that you experience is the law in the physical and spiritual realms, and can also be considered a fact of nature. Someone said; you can be sure of two things, death and taxes. This statement contains two facts but is not truth. When Jesus stood before Lazarus’ tomb, the friend of Jesus who died, the truth lifted his voice and said, “Lazarus, come forth!” and Lazarus walked out of his grave.[1] The truth transcends the law of sin and death.

The law of people’s opinion that can weigh heavy on the human psyche and determine whether or not a person feels accepted or rejected, is a law of nature in time and space. But when the truth met the woman caught in the act of adultery, he said, “Where are your accusers…neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”[2] Truth transcends the law of people’s opinion.

Almost two-thousand years ago Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the father except through me.”[3] Jesus said, I am the truth. Therefore truth has a name, and his name is Jesus. As you live, you will experience facts that are not necessarily truth. The circle below, for sake of illustration is eternity. God is eternity, and he created time and space inside himself. God’s truth flows in all and through all.

But all of his work is done in truth[4] and truth came through Jesus Christ,[5] who is the Word of God. He is the matrix of time and space, and the truth throughout the universe. Jesus holds all things together with his word. Therefore, his truth is good news! This is how that truth works for you and me.

The Revelation of Truth

One day a lady came in who was depressed. She described her depression as a dark cloud that felt hopeless and helpless, filled with regret and accusation. This reminded me of the Peanut’s character ‘Pig Pin’ that always had a cloud of dirt that followed him.

As she began to relate the story of her life and all of the circumstances where person after person betrayed and rejected her, I thought to myself; this woman really is rejected and “Lord, what am I going to tell her?”

The scripture says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”[6] But if she looked only at the evidence of her life, her truth would be “I am rejected!” She had already come to this conclusion, but she had not encountered the Truth that would set her free. I took the time to bring scripture to her, because this was her only hope.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, If you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. They answered Him, We are Abraham’s seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do You say, You will become free? Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin. But the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains to the age. Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.[7]

The men who Jesus was talking to in this scripture were defending their position, but denying the truth himself. They said we have been in slavery to no one, never! When in truth they were enslaved to the Roman occupation of Israel and the seat of government in Jerusalem. But there was another slave owner that Jesus was talking about. Jesus was talking about the law of sin and death, because they were practicing the sin of unbelief. Their confidence was based in themselves.

As the Lord began to speak to this lady who had come with depression, I sensed a new truth that God was giving her. She needed a new perspective of God, and a new revelation of his power and glory.

I said, “All of the stories you have told me today are evidence that you have received as fact. People have rejected you. Their opinion and actions toward you is rejection, but do you want to be defined by someone else’s opinion? Do you want the enemy, who wants to destroy you, to accuse you and your friends of rejection? Do you want someone who is human, just like you, to tell you whether or not you are accepted? From an earthly point of view you are rejected. But this is not the end of the story, and it is definitely not true. The truth of God is eternal and you need the truth. May I share this truth with you?”

She looked stunned. Then as if jerked out of a dazed hangover said, “Uhhh, Sure… What are you saying?”

I opened my Bible to Ephesians 1:3-6 and read it out loud to her.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.[8]

After I read this passage, I began to list the truths that she needed to believe as truth.

“The experiences that you have been through are telling you that you are rejected. The evidence is overwhelming, but it is a lie. How is it a lie? Because the truth is given to you right here, by the Word of God. First, you are blessed with all of the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ. Two, you were chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world. Three, you were adopted by Jesus Christ because it pleased him.”

I paused a few seconds, to allow what I was saying to sink in. She shook her head as if she had received something she had never seen before. And it was true. But she was not the only one. I had not received this revelation before this time. But on this day, it went in as truth. It was the revelation of Jesus; the Word of God that lives and abides forever.[9]

I then said, “You are chosen in Christ…” Next I asked, “Do you want to be free and receive the truth?” She responded with a question. “Is this really true?”

I answered with question. “Is God’s word true?”

She said, “Yes.”

I asked another, “Can God lie?”

She said, “No.”

“Will you believe God, or all the people who have treated you with disrespect and dishonor?”

She responded with a new tone in her voice. “I want to believe God!”

“Then will you speak this confession with me, phrase by phrase, out loud please?”

She said, “Yes.”

“Father God, I renounce a lie that says, ‘I am rejected.’ And I choose this day to break the word and actions over my life that has agreed with rejection. I now come into agreement with the truth that says, ‘I am chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world! I agree with God that I am chosen! My eternal Father chose me and loves me.”

“I renounce a lie that says ’other people can tell me who I am.” And I come into the truth that says, ‘I am chosen and adopted by Jesus and he is pleased with his daughter.”

When God reveals a truth that goes this deep and confronts so many lies all at once, I will say the confessions and truths repeatedly. I said to her, “Will you confess them with me again?”

She said, “Yes.” And we confessed these truths three times together. It is always good for your body to hear your voice agree with truth, and it is compounded when the truth you agree with is God’s Word.

Then I explained the eternal gospel. “Since the Word of God is eternal, and the apostle Paul was giving eternal revelation to the Ephesians, he is also giving this eternal revelation to you. You were chosen before God created darkness and said, ‘Let there be light.’ You were chosen before there was a heaven and earth. You were chosen before Adam was created. You had to have an individual entity, to be chosen. And God saw you, chose you, and loved you! He is saying from eternity that you are chosen and accepted. This is an eternal truth, and the eternal gospel – good news. Does this sound like good news to you?”

She began to weep as a light began to shine from her face. There are many truths that are in Christ that will bring the eternal light of God into your body.

Truth Transcends The Universe

The truth is established from the heart of God, not from the circumstances you experience. This is what King Solomon said:

He has made everything beautiful in its time.  Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.[10]

God has known from eternity all His works.[11] When you love Him, agree with Him, and stand on His promises, they will manifest in the natural realm. This is why Jesus said,

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.[12]

Meditating and confessing the eternal Word of God settles your faith and brings confidence to the soul. You had your conscious beginning in flesh, but you are destined for Spirit and life. You are limited by your humanity, but you are designed for a relationship with God. You were created as a son or daughter of God. Eternity only begins in heaven. Heaven is eternal, but heaven is not eternity. Heaven is not the end destination, God is the destination. When you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, your eternal life began, and God is your goal.

True change comes as you come into complete agreement with the person and truth that comes from Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit. As you agree with God and let Him change your heart, your life comes into agreement with Him.

God’s Word is Eternal Truth

There are many truths that live in Jesus Christ the truth, and exist from eternity. These truths will transform your heart and bring you into God’s created design. The transformation that God wants in you is eternal. Take some time to read and assimilate the truth of these scriptures. The news that comes in him and all of the promises that are in him are inherently eternal.

1) “God created me as His Son…” Genesis 1:26

2) “…light affliction…eternal glory…” 2 Corinthians 4:17

3) “The Lamb slain from the…” Revelation 13:8

4) “God determines our life…” Acts 17:26

5) “My God shall supply…” Philippians 4:19

Jesus is Eternal Truth

The eternal truth is the manifested reality of Jesus Christ, who lives and abides forever. This is why truth is more than a principle or teaching. Truth is a person. God put His revelation in the creation, so that you would see him and know Him.

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead.  And He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, ‘Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys to hell and of death.’ [13]

Your righteous testimonies are everlasting and your decrees are binding to eternity.[14]

Jesus is the perfect representation of the Father, and as such, he has been the only one that acted in his Father’s best interest. God is the only being that inhabits and fills eternity. He is the only God that has ultimate power and authority. He is the only king of the universe. He is your only eternal Father and he wants you to trust him.

When the Apostle John was visited by the ascended and transformed Jesus Christ, he fell on his face as a dead man. Then Jesus began to reveal the future to him. The Spirit of truth is still revealing the future to his kids. He is the eternal truth and his power is unrivaled and immeasurable. The only way for you to walk in his power and glory is to receive his divine nature.

The process of transformation in the soul is likened to silver being purified and gold being refined. Both of these processes involve the baptism of fire. The process of flesh transforming into pure eternal spirit is the butterfly effect. After being entombed as a caterpillar in a spun grave, the worm dies and is transformed into a butterfly, another entirely new creation. This transformation is exactly the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

  1. What an amazing testimony. Gods power is real. A life that is lived to the expectaions of what a human being can accomplish is a constant disappointment, but if we strive in Gods divine appointment then we can focus on the truth of the holy spirits power.
