Living Life from the Heart

The Power of the Kingdom living life from the heart BookCoverImageThe life of mankind is driven from the heart. You may follow your desires in a moment of weakness from time to time, but the heart, the center of your being and architect of your belief system, will drive the direction of your soul and capture the thoughts of your life. Jesus said, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bring forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”[1]

The hustle and bustle of the people had stirred up quite a dust cloud on the streets of first century Jerusalem. An atmosphere of excitement, almost like electrical energy, moved the people that day because Jesus was in town. No one had ever healed a man who was born blind before, or spoken for God with the power to deliver a man bound by a legion of demons. After his teaching on this day, he fulfilled a 500 year old prophecy out of Isaiah by laying hands on the children and blessing them, when a very rich young ruler came to him, fell on his knees and worshipped him, begging a question. “Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

He was disturbed about his life after death arrangements, and was looking for a way to nail down his eternal reservation. Jesus on the other hand, was anticipating a journey of the heart to the Father. He loved this journey and was excited every time he had the opportunity to take it with someone. The question the young ruler asked was the right question, so Jesus stepped in and said,

Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, God. You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not commit murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.[2]

Then Jesus loved him. He gazed beyond the young man’s eyes and into his heart, and loved him. When you love someone you will tell them the truth from a heart of care and compassion. Of course, telling someone the truth in love does not mean that they will agree with you, but they must be told the truth. The man who was still on his knees looked up at Jesus once again and said, “Teacher I observed these from my youth.”

When Jesus looked into this man he saw all of his secrets; he saw the truth about his heart, he saw the truth about his god, and he saw all of the fear, doubt, and unbelief that terrorized him. He literally knew everything about him. Just because Jesus knew all of his dirt, he did not go around setting off a truth bomb, as an emotional terrorist might do. In this story, he told the truth in love, because he had the young ruler’s best interests at heart.  His goal was not to embarrass him in public and use the power of peer pressure to control him, but give him the answer to his question.

One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell what things you have, and give to the poor. And you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me, taking up the cross. But being sad at the Word, he went away grieving; for he had many possessions.[3]

In this public encounter, Jesus spoke with great respect and love. Jesus knew what needed to happen for this rich young ruler’s soul to let go of his idol. Jesus knew the secrets of his heart and wanted him to be free. The subconscious belief system in this rich young ruler’s heart would not let him part with his riches in order to gain eternal life. The rich man was driven from the heart. You are too.

Life is Processed in the Soul

Every time I spin the globe of my personal life experiences, I sneak a quick look at the mountain top experiences that have influenced my present-day, subconscious belief structures. When I put on a set of reading glasses labeled “a belief system formed in the heart by my original sin paradigm and the interpretation of past experiences”; I realize how difficult it is to see my past or present as it really is. As I peer into that globe that contains my life-timeline stretched out event by event, everything is blurry, unless I put on a new perspective and receive God’s revelation of truth.

The rich young man who humbled himself by kneeling down at the feet of Jesus, had a number of these mountain top experiences that positively reinforced that money was more important to him than any other relationship. He had experiences that established his identity with his riches, supported his pride of life commitments, and connected his heart with his ability to multiply his resources. The rich man needed a new belief structure. Even though the love of money is the root of all evil, there are many other beliefs that will yield the same result as the rich man’s bondage. What you focus your soul on will be the power that drives you.

For example, if you believe that all of the authorities in your life are out to get you, you will resist any command and form rebellion in your soul. As a result, you will need a new point of view. If you believe that your friends will betray you, you will be driven to resist them before they can act on your suspicions. Subsequently you will need a new paradigm. If you believe that sales people want to take advantage of you, you will be driven to resist anyone who applies undue pressure to make a decision. Then you will need a new set of glasses to see people clearly. If you believe that God is a rosy smiling fat man who will give you whatever you want, if you will rub his belly just right, you will be driven to please man and worship a god, like Buddha, that caters to your desire for pleasure.

 A Better Way

I am writing this book to open your understanding to the spiritual and physical foundations of God, which will set a confidence in your heart. I understand where you are coming from and how to acquire the confidence of truth. Although I had lived in a successful pastoral career for approximately 35 years, I survived most of my life with a deep sense of fear and anxiety, anger and frustration, helplessness and hopelessness, and a psyche that was riddled with the fear of failure and rejection. I believed that when people got to know me, they would not accept me.

These torments were not the sum of my experiences, but this mindset had furrowed deep grooves into my belief system. I lived in a place where I believed God’s truth, but I did not accept that truth personally. I proclaimed the truth of God’s word, but did not believe I deserved the promises to be fulfilled in my life. God’s truth was good for everyone except me. God’s grace has been truly amazing as I have worked through the spiritual and emotional condition that the Apostle Paul would identify as,

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof….[9]

This condition caused me to care for people tirelessly but question God’s love. For hours before the weekly ministry meetings, I experienced fear and dread, and after these responsibilities were complete, I sensed accomplishment but felt an undercurrent of frustration and fear that questioned the value of my service. You might call this self evaluation but I call it torment.

I have met many people, just like me, who looked calm on the surface, but had a storm brewing in their eyes. Most of us believe what we think, as if our thoughts and opinions can hold the sum of our heart-felt conviction. But the eternal God knows what drives you. Therefore, he has made the creation to respond to what you believe not what you think. What you believe and compels you to act begins in the soul. Do you know what drives you? Do you know who you are? Do you know what you believe? Do you know how the actions and reactions of your life reveal what your heart believes? And do you know how to establish the mind of Christ and enter into the secrets of God’s kingdom?

God does give you a process for cleansing the soul, purifying the conscience, and transforming your mind in James 4:6-8. I call this the kingdom circle, and I will unfold this process of change and repentance later.

 A Storm in the Soul

One day a lady came in for help. She was working through some very strong performance issues, which drove her to outperform everyone. She was pushing herself beyond normal limits at work, even though her boss was not leveraging her for more production. She thought these often unrealistic expectations were coming from her desire to succeed. Her driven Type A personality was causing some very serious marital and parental problems at home. No one could measure up to her expectations. She was so driven, that she could not see herself having the strength to sustain the same level of performance into her twilight years.

After an introduction to the SozoLife process, we began working through the issue at hand. I said to her, “When you are experiencing an issue in your present-day life, you can be confident that the issue is fruit on a tree, and where there is fruit there is also a root.” After we welcomed the Spirit of truth[12] in prayer I said, “Will you close your eyes and repeat this prayer phrase by phrase after me out loud please?”

She said, “Yes.”

I began with, “Holy Spirit of truth, will you please show me where this drive to perform is coming from?” We waited for Holy Spirit to answer. He says, “Ask and it shall be given you.”[13]

She felt a small constriction around her shoulders and sensed darkness all around her. At the beginning it was a little unsettling for her. “I don’t understand what is happening and why I am only seeing darkness.”

I spoke very calmly, “let’s assume nothing for the moment. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit another question: “Holy Spirit of truth, do you want to show me where I am and how this experience relates to the issue in me?”

She said, “Oh… I sense that I am in my mother’s womb. Now…I am hearing a conversation between my mother and father. I think they are in the kitchen, eating supper. My mother had just found out that she was pregnant with me.” She could sense the apprehension in her mother’s voice.

“I am pregnant.” Her mother said. The words fell as if her father was not listening. A moment of silence seemed like a month as she began to feel the tension that was in her mother’s voice. Then she heard her father.

“I thought you were on the pill.”

“I was, but one got through.” She could feel the tension inside her begin to grow exponentially. She began to feel an uncertainty about her future. Her father spoke again with an edge of sarcasm.

“I don’t know if we can afford to have a baby right now. This is going to put so much pressure on us financially. I may have to go out and get another job.”

“What are you saying…?” her mom said. The discussion escalated. Then she heard her father offer another solution.

“Or… maybe you should go out and get a job. I don’t know if I can bring in enough.”

As she was hearing her father and mother’s discussion, her soul was processing even as an unborn child. The Holy Spirit opened up the memory and process of this experience. When God releases your soul, it does not have to grow up. You were chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world.[14] She was hearing, sensing, and feeling in the present, through the Holy Spirit, a deep sense of frustration coming up in her heart.[15]

I responded to the facial changes with this question. “What are you feeling? If the feelings coming up from deep inside you could speak what would they say?”

We sat for a few moments so that she could find the words to describe what these intense feelings would say. “I am hurt and rejected because my father does not want me. I am angry. I cannot trust him.”

There was such a mix of emotions and anxious rumbling that it shook her to the very core. She interpreted her father’s words as saying, “I do not want this child. It is going to cost me too much. It is going to be a burden.” Then she felt a surge of power within her that communicated a very overwhelming and defensive sense of defiance that she communicated to me with these words.

“I will have to show him that I am worthy of life. I will have to prove that my life has value and that I have a right to live”

This was her private interpretation of this conversation. Her parents would not have wanted their child to live under this kind of pressure; if they would have known what was happening to her. Furthermore, her parents were not responsible for her decision. She made a decision in her heart, and then made a personal vow that she would prove her value and substantiate her right to live.

She was active in the womb. Even before she was born she was discontented with the status quo and had “busyness” about her personality. Her parents said she had been a high level performer all of her life. Although her soul did not consciously remember either her parent’s conversation, or making the vows that have been driving her, the fruit of her decision could be seen clearly. She lived to prove her right to live.

Only God knows the places that you go in your heart that drive your decisions.

When the root is revealed, confessions in prayer and proclamation are required to reset the foundations of the belief system, and bring them into agreement with God and his Word.

The next step in the ministry to this woman was to work through The Kingdom Circle (we will reveal later); confess the sin of idolatry: the self-god syndrome that declared her own power to change the perception of her worth and value. Then dismantle the self-made belief system that brought her into agreement with, “I will prove that I have value and that I have a right to live.” And then establish God’s belief system.

 A Deep Groove

Only God knows the places that you go in your heart that drive your decisions. He alone knows how to bring the course required for unlocking the truth. Your eternal Father enters your life every day. You will never be outside of his love. He created the soul for an eternal purpose.

The promise of divine help was foreign to her. The divine connection between the soul, the body, and the spirit that brings the light of God’s wisdom into your heart, is usually activated when you come to the end of yourself and ask for God’s help. The spirit of the world, on the other hand, will give the credit for God-given design and purpose to other instinctual programming.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.[16]

The spirit of the world is the spirit that this lady agreed with in her mother’s womb. But this was revealed to her through the Holy Spirit of truth. The Apostle Paul, who walked with God in the first century, revealed this almost two-thousand years ago when he said:

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.[17]

The foundation for your belief system must be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Your beginning paradigm that was downloaded at conception, along with the development of your inner-man continues to be shaped by your choices. The consequence of wrong choices will weigh heavy on your psyche, hinder your warm and loving relationships, and can all but annihilate any loving and intimate relationship with God.

Judgment in the Heart

Her belief system was set before she was born. The proof of value will come from her performance. She would be her own personal judge. She alone would evaluate the worth of her life. She judged her father as a selfish and inconsiderate man, who wanted her to prove her worth. He never said that, but she interpreted his words and actions as an aphorism. This groove in her soul was so deep that only the Spirit of truth could reveal the lies, judgments, vows, and value system that had been used by the enemy to torment her and her family.

One of her lies was wrapped around her definition of value. In her heart, her father’s compliment for a job well done was not connected to his love for her, but to the value she needed to prove her right to exist.

I said, “Will you please repeat these confessions and proclamations after me phrase-by-phrase and word-for-word? And as you confess, let your heart come into agreement with God’s word?”

Breakthrough

The tears began to flow as she responded with a sigh of relief. ”Yes, I would love to…!” and she turned her life over to God’s design and power.

“Now, repeat this prayer after me phrase-by-phrase from your heart, ‘Lord God, in Jesus name, I confess the sin of Idolatry… I confess the sin of breaking the first three commandments, when I made this vow, ‘I will prove my value and prove that I have a right to live…’ I break agreement with these words and command them to fall to the ground right now in Jesus name… I break agreement with a lie that says, ‘My value is established in my performance …and I come into agreement with the truth that says, ‘My value is set in my creator’s love for me and by him giving his own son Jesus to redeem me.’ (Romans 5:8) ‘I agree that I could do nothing to earn this, but I can only receive as a gift what my eternal Father has given me.’ (John 3:16) ‘Lord God, will you please bring the eternal blood of Jesus and cleanse my body soul and spirit from each of these sins and each of the sins that I chose through my life because I believed these lies? (1 John 1:7) Lord God, I confess that you alone the God of my life and heart. (Philippians 2:11) I bow before you as the only Lord of my life, (Romans 14:11) in Jesus’ name.’” I paused to give her some time to process, and then I asked her.

“How does that feel?”

She responded cautiously but decisively, as if she was walking into a new territory that she had not traveled before. “I feel like a thousand pounds has been lifted off of my neck…”

I said, “Praise the Lord, but we are not done yet. Will you continue with me?”

“Ok…sure.”

Then we continued with the following repeat after me prayers and confessions. “I break agreement with a lie that says, ‘I have to prove that I have a right to live…’ and I come into agreement with the truth that says, ‘My eternal father chose me in Christ before the foundations of the world…’ (Ephesians 1:4) ‘My Father chose me before the foundations of the world…’ say the truth again, ‘I am chosen and therefore have a right to live because he sent me here.’ (Acts 17:26-28) (I left the scripture references in because it adds the authority of God’s word.)

Then I said, “Now, how does that settle into your heart?”

Her reply communicated a lighter tone. “It’s like… I can still feel stuff breaking off of me… almost like it is coming off in layers. Can we keep going?”

“Hey… that’s what I am supposed to say.” We laughed and kept our focus in this vein of repentance and confession as Holy Spirit led the restoring of her foundations into truth.

“Ok, let’s go here now… can you be there where you were hearing your parent’s conversation?”

A few moments passed and she said, “I’m there.”

Now confess this and release this to your parents, “Dad and mom, I forgive you for causing me to believe that you did not want me. I forgive you for questioning the value of my life. I forgive you for not speaking treasured thoughts about me from my conception. I forgive you for not valuing me as a gift from God. And Lord, I repent for judging my parents as not wanting me. And I speak blessings on them right now in Jesus name.”

There were other issues that we dealt with in this ministry time, but the root of this issue came from the choice she made in her soul, before she was born. This speaks to either a genetic memory and\or an eternal soul that is aware and already stamped with a paradigm at conception. The older we are when the Lord reveals truth to us, the deeper the influence of this belief system will have on our present day attitude and action.

For this lady, as you can imagine, there were also complications in the relationship with her father. The father establishes your identity, inclusion and inheritance. But she had set her identity in her ability to prove her value and validation. Every time she was complimented she felt vindicated in her right to exist, which caused her to work even harder. When she was corrected, her value in performance took a hit and she was broken. But this also compelled her to work harder. This was unusually frustrating because she was feeling attacked if she did perform and attacked if she didn’t perform. She could not win. What she needed was transformation… to know the truth and the truth to set her free.

A Strong Foundation

The ministry of the Spirit through the heart is the way to a rewarding relationship with God. The Spirit of God meets you where you are and walks with you into the power of a redeemed life. A SozoLife session helps the soul process the events of life through focused prayer and spiritual guidance.

I have designed this book to focus on the foundations required to build your heart in God’s kingdom. As you focus your heart on the power of his word, and walk in the wisdom of his glory, you will become confident. This will give you the power to live life from the heart. A relationship with the Father – Elohim, Jesus – Yeshua, and Ruach – the Spirit of Christ will serve as the channel for a solid foundation. Jesus is the prince of peace and he gives that peace to you. As you make the choice to live your life in God’s Spirit and nature that you receive from him, you will walk out of the dark into his marvelous light.

Are You Accepted or Rejected?

The Power of the Kingdom living life from the heart BookCoverImageHave you ever been rejected? What do you remember about that rejection? Rejection is one of the most powerful experiences that can paralyze your soul. Rejection is choosing to believe the opinion of another person, or group of people, over your own belief about yourself, or over what God believes about you. The truth about you is clearly given in God’s Word. The foundation for a healthy soul or psyche is the living Word of God.

The Living Word of God is the eternal good news. When the Apostle John was in heaven, he saw an angel having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth. Eternal truth transcends time and space, and exists from eternity. A message that began in eternity will be true throughout time and space. As a human, you believe that you can determine truth by the logical evaluation of evidence that is presented before you in the physical realm. Evidence can present fact to you but not necessarily be the truth.

The law of gravity that you experience on earth is what you may call a fact of nature. But when Jesus walked on the water, the truth transcended the law of gravity.

The law of sin and death that you experience is the law in the physical and spiritual realms, and can also be considered a fact of nature. Someone said; you can be sure of two things, death and taxes. This statement contains two facts but is not truth. When Jesus stood before Lazarus’ tomb, the friend of Jesus who died, the truth lifted his voice and said, “Lazarus, come forth!” and Lazarus walked out of his grave.[1] The truth transcends the law of sin and death.

The law of people’s opinion that can weigh heavy on the human psyche and determine whether or not a person feels accepted or rejected, is a law of nature in time and space. But when the truth met the woman caught in the act of adultery, he said, “Where are your accusers…neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”[2] Truth transcends the law of people’s opinion.

Almost two-thousand years ago Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the father except through me.”[3] Jesus said, I am the truth. Therefore truth has a name, and his name is Jesus. As you live, you will experience facts that are not necessarily truth. The circle below, for sake of illustration is eternity. God is eternity, and he created time and space inside himself. God’s truth flows in all and through all.

But all of his work is done in truth[4] and truth came through Jesus Christ,[5] who is the Word of God. He is the matrix of time and space, and the truth throughout the universe. Jesus holds all things together with his word. Therefore, his truth is good news! This is how that truth works for you and me.

The Revelation of Truth

One day a lady came in who was depressed. She described her depression as a dark cloud that felt hopeless and helpless, filled with regret and accusation. This reminded me of the Peanut’s character ‘Pig Pin’ that always had a cloud of dirt that followed him.

As she began to relate the story of her life and all of the circumstances where person after person betrayed and rejected her, I thought to myself; this woman really is rejected and “Lord, what am I going to tell her?”

The scripture says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”[6] But if she looked only at the evidence of her life, her truth would be “I am rejected!” She had already come to this conclusion, but she had not encountered the Truth that would set her free. I took the time to bring scripture to her, because this was her only hope.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in Him, If you continue in My Word, you are truly My disciples. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. They answered Him, We are Abraham’s seed, and we have been in slavery to no one, never! How do You say, You will become free? Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin. But the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains to the age. Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.[7]

The men who Jesus was talking to in this scripture were defending their position, but denying the truth himself. They said we have been in slavery to no one, never! When in truth they were enslaved to the Roman occupation of Israel and the seat of government in Jerusalem. But there was another slave owner that Jesus was talking about. Jesus was talking about the law of sin and death, because they were practicing the sin of unbelief. Their confidence was based in themselves.

As the Lord began to speak to this lady who had come with depression, I sensed a new truth that God was giving her. She needed a new perspective of God, and a new revelation of his power and glory.

I said, “All of the stories you have told me today are evidence that you have received as fact. People have rejected you. Their opinion and actions toward you is rejection, but do you want to be defined by someone else’s opinion? Do you want the enemy, who wants to destroy you, to accuse you and your friends of rejection? Do you want someone who is human, just like you, to tell you whether or not you are accepted? From an earthly point of view you are rejected. But this is not the end of the story, and it is definitely not true. The truth of God is eternal and you need the truth. May I share this truth with you?”

She looked stunned. Then as if jerked out of a dazed hangover said, “Uhhh, Sure… What are you saying?”

I opened my Bible to Ephesians 1:3-6 and read it out loud to her.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.[8]

After I read this passage, I began to list the truths that she needed to believe as truth.

“The experiences that you have been through are telling you that you are rejected. The evidence is overwhelming, but it is a lie. How is it a lie? Because the truth is given to you right here, by the Word of God. First, you are blessed with all of the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ. Two, you were chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world. Three, you were adopted by Jesus Christ because it pleased him.”

I paused a few seconds, to allow what I was saying to sink in. She shook her head as if she had received something she had never seen before. And it was true. But she was not the only one. I had not received this revelation before this time. But on this day, it went in as truth. It was the revelation of Jesus; the Word of God that lives and abides forever.[9]

I then said, “You are chosen in Christ…” Next I asked, “Do you want to be free and receive the truth?” She responded with a question. “Is this really true?”

I answered with question. “Is God’s word true?”

She said, “Yes.”

I asked another, “Can God lie?”

She said, “No.”

“Will you believe God, or all the people who have treated you with disrespect and dishonor?”

She responded with a new tone in her voice. “I want to believe God!”

“Then will you speak this confession with me, phrase by phrase, out loud please?”

She said, “Yes.”

“Father God, I renounce a lie that says, ‘I am rejected.’ And I choose this day to break the word and actions over my life that has agreed with rejection. I now come into agreement with the truth that says, ‘I am chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world! I agree with God that I am chosen! My eternal Father chose me and loves me.”

“I renounce a lie that says ’other people can tell me who I am.” And I come into the truth that says, ‘I am chosen and adopted by Jesus and he is pleased with his daughter.”

When God reveals a truth that goes this deep and confronts so many lies all at once, I will say the confessions and truths repeatedly. I said to her, “Will you confess them with me again?”

She said, “Yes.” And we confessed these truths three times together. It is always good for your body to hear your voice agree with truth, and it is compounded when the truth you agree with is God’s Word.

Then I explained the eternal gospel. “Since the Word of God is eternal, and the apostle Paul was giving eternal revelation to the Ephesians, he is also giving this eternal revelation to you. You were chosen before God created darkness and said, ‘Let there be light.’ You were chosen before there was a heaven and earth. You were chosen before Adam was created. You had to have an individual entity, to be chosen. And God saw you, chose you, and loved you! He is saying from eternity that you are chosen and accepted. This is an eternal truth, and the eternal gospel – good news. Does this sound like good news to you?”

She began to weep as a light began to shine from her face. There are many truths that are in Christ that will bring the eternal light of God into your body.

Truth Transcends The Universe

The truth is established from the heart of God, not from the circumstances you experience. This is what King Solomon said:

He has made everything beautiful in its time.  Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.[10]

God has known from eternity all His works.[11] When you love Him, agree with Him, and stand on His promises, they will manifest in the natural realm. This is why Jesus said,

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.[12]

Meditating and confessing the eternal Word of God settles your faith and brings confidence to the soul. You had your conscious beginning in flesh, but you are destined for Spirit and life. You are limited by your humanity, but you are designed for a relationship with God. You were created as a son or daughter of God. Eternity only begins in heaven. Heaven is eternal, but heaven is not eternity. Heaven is not the end destination, God is the destination. When you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, your eternal life began, and God is your goal.

True change comes as you come into complete agreement with the person and truth that comes from Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit. As you agree with God and let Him change your heart, your life comes into agreement with Him.

God’s Word is Eternal Truth

There are many truths that live in Jesus Christ the truth, and exist from eternity. These truths will transform your heart and bring you into God’s created design. The transformation that God wants in you is eternal. Take some time to read and assimilate the truth of these scriptures. The news that comes in him and all of the promises that are in him are inherently eternal.

1) “God created me as His Son…” Genesis 1:26

2) “…light affliction…eternal glory…” 2 Corinthians 4:17

3) “The Lamb slain from the…” Revelation 13:8

4) “God determines our life…” Acts 17:26

5) “My God shall supply…” Philippians 4:19

Jesus is Eternal Truth

The eternal truth is the manifested reality of Jesus Christ, who lives and abides forever. This is why truth is more than a principle or teaching. Truth is a person. God put His revelation in the creation, so that you would see him and know Him.

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead.  And He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, ‘Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys to hell and of death.’ [13]

Your righteous testimonies are everlasting and your decrees are binding to eternity.[14]

Jesus is the perfect representation of the Father, and as such, he has been the only one that acted in his Father’s best interest. God is the only being that inhabits and fills eternity. He is the only God that has ultimate power and authority. He is the only king of the universe. He is your only eternal Father and he wants you to trust him.

When the Apostle John was visited by the ascended and transformed Jesus Christ, he fell on his face as a dead man. Then Jesus began to reveal the future to him. The Spirit of truth is still revealing the future to his kids. He is the eternal truth and his power is unrivaled and immeasurable. The only way for you to walk in his power and glory is to receive his divine nature.

The process of transformation in the soul is likened to silver being purified and gold being refined. Both of these processes involve the baptism of fire. The process of flesh transforming into pure eternal spirit is the butterfly effect. After being entombed as a caterpillar in a spun grave, the worm dies and is transformed into a butterfly, another entirely new creation. This transformation is exactly the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

DO YOU HAVE AUTHORITY OVER DEMONS?

The Purpose

This book will change your life!!!
This book will change your life!!!

One day a lady came in with tormented thoughts of depression and suicide. The demons had been oppressing her for years through intimidation and fear. She had not learned or exercised the authority that she had in Christ. Instead, she followed the normal human avenues for health and sanity, seeing a psychiatrist and taking anti-depressants that kept her numb. “This really didn’t help.” She said.

God is the creator of all things and did not make you from pond scum. He made you in his own image. God’s desire as the very first Father was to reproduce after his kind; in his image, according to his likeness, and conferring on his children the authority of his dominion. (Genesis 1:26) Father God gave Adam his own qualities, attributes and characteristics. He imagined a son that would look like him, not someone else. This is why you don’t look like a monkey. Aren’t you glad God loved you enough to make you in his image? Aren’t you glad he is not a duck?

Before God made you, he wrote into the creation’s DNA the recognition of his sons and daughters and the authority he would give them. All of creation will respond to you. This is why bears usually run from men, and snakes run from women. Through these same laws, you were given the authority to deal with the visible and invisible realms and everything that creeps on the earth. This is the first establishment of divine authority given to you through his word.

First Level of Authority

The visible and invisible realms exist together and are authorized by the word of God. God’s word is the law in both realms, because his word holds all of creation together. (Colossians 1:16-17) Therefore, this word spoken by God established your created purpose, and institutes the first level of authority he delegated to you through Adam. God’s spoken declaration of the purpose of man was recorded in Genesis 1:26: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion …over all the earth… and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”

God spoke this purpose before he stepped onto the earth to form man from the dust of the ground. This writing in Genesis was not for his benefit, for he has always known what he was going to do. This scripture was written for your sake. He wants you to know what he established for you. When you know what his purpose is concerning your created design and destiny, you can know his heart and seek him out.

This is what Genesis 1:26, phrased by phrase, established for you. When God said “In our image…” image is a word that means shadow, therefore revealing that he made you to be like him, and possess his heart. When God said, “In his likeness…” likeness is a word that means similitude, therefore showing that He made you to act like him, and model him. When God said, “…let them have dominion…” dominion is a word that means rule – a Hebrew word meaning to crumble off and reform, therefore demonstrating that he made you to rule like him, and administrate his spiritual and physical resources.

You are formed as God’s son or daughter and when you become just like him, you make him a proud papa. This is the foundation of your authority in the creation and this word has never been rescinded. But there were problems in Paradise. Adam and Eve believed and obeyed the word of a demon – that was speaking through a serpent, over the word of God. (Genesis 3) If the demons can cast doubt on God’s word, and get you to believe that His word is not true, you will believe their lies, and they will have you.

There is a mountain of lies in the earth today about God, his Word, angels, demons, spiritual beings, ghosts and the living dead Zombie like “people.” These myths are promoted in novels, by TV shows, and through movies, but these lies are coming from the spirit realm through someone’s darkened and twisted imagination. On the other hand, God will always tell you the truth. He alone is God, and He controls time and space. It is His plan that is being worked out on earth, and he will hold everyone eternally accountable for their choices. The creator always holds power over His creation.  The Apostle Paul, who was educated in the Yale and Harvard of his day wrote this insight under the inspiration of Holy Spirit.

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:16-17)

The earthly picture would be of a king who establishes his throne through the authority of his word and deeds, and then in the fullness of time transfers all of his authority, power, resources, and the future of his kingdom to his well trained son or daughter.

A New Level of Authority

The second establishment of your authority is based in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. When he gave His life and bled out his perfect blood for you, he paid the ultimate price for your sin and opened the way to save your soul. He destroyed the power of the enemy, took the keys of death hell and the grave into his own hands, and re-established his sovereign authority. The only thing you can do to obtain this authority is believe him (John 1:12). “But as many as received him to them gave he power to become the son’s of God, even to those who believe on his name.” When you choose to place your confidence and faith in Him, your soul joins with eternal power. When you receive Jesus as your personal Savior, you have the same authority he does, because you are standing in him; his person, his love, his family, his work, his resurrection, his authority, and his power. This is the testimony of Jesus Christ that Matthew was writing about “And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, ‘All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Jesus has always had all authority in heaven and earth, but when the first Adam chose sin he submitted the free exercise of his authority over the creation to the prince of the power of the air, Lucifer. Man still has authority over the creation according to the word of God, but his authority was abdicated (willfully walked away from for another opinion), and man would now have to fight to triumph.

Instead of walking with God and freely absorbing all that you need from him, Adam chose (and all the seed of man in his loins) to question the word of God for the power of your own opinion. Basically, instead of knowing the truth from God himself, you have to fight to come to his truth, because your truth; the assumption of truth established through your own perception, evaluation and assimilation of your experiences, feels more right to you.

Since God puts things together with purpose, the angelic and the demonic serve his created purpose and plan. This reality must be a part of your belief system, if you will walk free. For more on this subject, please get my book Conquering My Demons: living in the power of freedom

Authority Revealed

Chains breaking 1
Bondage will be Broken!

When the Lady at the beginning of this article came in, she could not find any physical lasting hope or help.

As God began to open the eyes of her soul, she saw a dark fog-like being surrounding her, with little static lightning bolts sporadically illuminating. She had lost her identity in her childhood, and began to believe that she was the sum of her dark secrets. She had been visited by a demon in a moment of great fear and told that he would protect her. The demon lied, because that is what they do, but she wanted help so she agreed with him; but over the years her identity was eclipsed by this ominous cloud of depression. She believed the depression was her.

After this was revealed I said, “This is good news.”

She said, “Good news? This is not good news, it’s a demon. What do you mean its good news?”

I responded, “Well, all that you have been experiencing, and all of the symptoms you have listed for me are the energies and qualities of this dark cloud around you. This means that it is not you! All of the thoughts of suicide and hopelessness are not you or your thoughts. It is the demon that is manifesting as this ominous cloud.” Then I said, “Do you want to keep this demon and his thoughts?”

She said, “No! Are you kidding?”

Live Life from the Heart
Live Life from the Heart

I reacted with a small chuckle, “I have to ask that question so that your will can engage.” As I began to reveal the authority that Christ had established for her, she was filled with a righteous anger for the years this demon had stolen from her. The process for hearing the voice of God and how to walk confident with Him can be found in my new book, The Power of the Kingdom: Living Life from the Heart.

Authority Activated

At this point, we began to activate the authority of Christ through prayer. Faith coupled with prayer is the most powerful weapon that destroys the work of the enemy. We began to pray something like this:

In the name of Jesus and by the power of his blood, I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over all creation, and I submit to him right now. Lord God, I take the authority you have given me, the authority of the word of God, and by the power of the blood of Jesus, I command any and every unclean spirit of depression and intimidation, manifesting around me or in me to be bound in Jesus’ name and to leave my life now! I renounce any involvement with it, and any participation with it, and any agreement that I have ever had with it.

Unclean spirit, I do not need you, I do not want you, and I command you to leave my life now, in Jesus’ name.’ Go now, before the throne of God, and give an account of yourself, and do not return to me in Jesus name!’

Lord Jesus, I agree with you that I have lived in fear. But from this moment, I renounce the spirit of fear and I receive a spirit of power, love and a sound mind. I choose right now to receive your perfect love to fill me. I confess any unforgiveness as sin, and I choose to forgive anyone who has ever hurt me.  I choose to live in a spirit of forgiveness from this day forward.

Lord Jesus, will you please send the Holy Spirit to fill me, and send your healing light into my heart, my soul, my body, and my life right now, please? I receive the Spirit of holiness, the spirit of burning and justice, with power and might, to guard me in all the places of my heart and soul. Thank you Lord Jesus. I affirm my confidence and faith in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross right now in the name of Jesus, AMEN!

Authority Restored

You have the same authority as your eternal Father, because you are his child.

You can hear God, Learn His language!!
You can hear God, Learn His language!!

She was delivered, stepped into the joy of the Lord, learned the language of the Spirit, and began to walk on a trek with the eternal Father as he re-established her identity in him. When your identity is broken the demons attack and prey on you. Your identity is who you believe you are from the heart, and is very important for your sanity. The Apostle Paul, almost two thousand years ago stated the identity that you have in Jesus Christ in Colossians 1:12-13. “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son…”

This is your identity. God wants you to believe, receive and walk in this authority. When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you are a son or daughter of God, a saint of light, a partaker of the inheritance, who has been translated from the power of darkness into the kingdom of his dear Son. You have the same authority as your eternal Father, because you are his child. (John 1:12)

God bless you and walk free with POWER!!!

A NEW LOOK AT FORGIVENESS

God’s Perspective of Forgiveness

One day as I was sitting in my office, I heard my next appointment in the waiting room. This lady had made an appointment a week earlier. She had a fulfilled marriage of 18 years, with three teenage children, and all was going well. Or so I thought… The waiting was over and she stepped into my office.

“Hi Sarah, please have a seat. How are you today?” I asked.

“Oh, I’m fine.” She said, with an apprehensive hesitant tone.

Sensing the struggle in her, I asked, “What is on your heart today?”

She hung her head, sat down in the chair said, “I need your help. I need to forgive my father. For some reason …I am not able to do that.”

My first response was rather candid, “Well, you know what the scripture says about forgiveness, don’t you?”

She says, “Yes, and I have said ‘I forgive you’ over and over again. I have prayed it. I have spoken it out loud, but somehow feelings of anger and rage keep coming up inside me, and pain comes up with it.” Her pain surfaced and I could see the conflict building. She tried to brush it off, but it would not be denied.

In that moment I realized that I was missing something. So I asked, “Do you want to tell me what you need to forgive him for?”

She looks down again, and sighs, “Ok…, I love my dad… but when I was 12 years old my dad started coming into my bedroom at night and sexually molesting me. This continued maybe two or three times a week until I was sixteen and I ran away from home. Our relationship has been now been reasonably restored, and I have tried everything to forgive him and let it go, but I can’t seem to do it.”

I thought to myself, “Give me a gun and I’ll take care of it for you.” I’m glad I didn’t say that out loud. No wonder she is troubled with forgiveness. Her father; the one man who was to establish her identity, watch over her, protect her, and be the strong moral foundation for her family; began to lust after her, touch her inappropriately, and gratify his lustful desire with her violently. This action is so demeaning that it crushes the spirit. The closest description to the way she would feel is as a black hole that is so dark and lifeless that it sucks up every good feeling from her life.

As she is pouring out her heart, I began a conversation with God in the back of my mind, “Oh God, please help! The trite answers that everyone would give for forgiveness will not work in this situation. I need your wisdom Oh Lord. What do you want me to tell her?”

Then I heard a still small voice that I know as the Lord’s whisper, “She needs a picture for her life that is bigger than herself.” While I was talking to her in my office, this conversation between me and God continued in the back of my mind. “I agree Lord, but what picture would that be?”

Illustration OneaHe said, “Take out a piece of paper. I want you to tell her a story and draw a diagram.  Write on the right side near the top, ‘Jehovah = I am that I am’ and tell her that I am Jehovah, which means ‘I am that I am.’”

He then said “Draw a triangle, representing God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as the originator of this plan, in the top left corner of the paper. Now share this with her, Jehovah = I am that I am, and that everything adds up in my universe.”

As I wrote this on that piece of paper, my hand went right under the ‘I am that I am’ and wrote 1+1=2, and then under that equation to write 2+2=4. Then he said, “Tell her that since ‘I am that I am’ is my nature, what you see is what you get. Everything adds up in my universe and everything has to add up in my universe. I am perfect, and I created everything perfect in its original state.”

Eternal purpose pic oneThen the still small voice said, “Now, draw a short line from the left side of the paper, about half way down.” As I drew, my hand moved as if I knew what to draw. For an hour or more I talked to her about God’s eternal plan for her life, and his eternal purpose to forgive and redeem his creation back to him. On the line at the left side of the paper, I drew two trees with two people (stick figures) standing under these trees.

And then he said, “Now tell her… Into this perfect environment I planted a garden full of fruit trees. But in the midst of this garden, I put the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Then I put Adam in the garden and told him “…of every tree in the garden you may eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof thou shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:17)

Then He said, “Tell her that Adam and Eve chose to eat from this forbidden tree and disobey me. And when they acted in disobedience, they sinned and fell from the original state of perfection they were created in, to a state of legal separation from me and a total commitment to self as the source, causing the curse of death and the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil to pass as an inherited curse to every man woman and child.”

eternal purpose slide twoAs I was describing the fall, I drew a vertical line down to the bottom of the page, and drew two stick figures, lying down in a position of death. Next, I drew a circle around them with slash marks around the circle coming from the outside of the circle in toward Adam and Eve; illustrating the anger of God that was directed toward them for their act of disobedience and that the integrity of his nature required when a breach to his Holiness is activated. This circle that looked like an explosion illustrated his nature being an all consuming fire, that cleanses as it consumes.

Then he said, “Tell her that in the moment of their decision, they sinned and fell from perfection. For the first time in earth’s creation, everything did not add up in my universe any more. But everything must add up in my universe, and someone has to pay for sin and death. Therefore, I was presented with two choices.

First, I could totally annihilate them; making them pay for their own disobedience and causing them to bear the full weight of my righteous anger. If I annihilate them, everything will be atoned for, and everything will add up in my universe again. This was my first choice, but I had another.

Second, I could take all that they deserved in judgment and death, anger and accusation, guilt and condemnation, offence and betrayal onto myself, and then take all of that righteous and holy justice of destruction and death out on my Son on the cross.”

Illustration Five aAs I said this, my hand drew a circular line starting from the explosion of death at the bottom of the left-hand section of the page; around to the top of the page right into the triangle I had drawn in the beginning, representing God. Next, I moved about 2/3’s of the distance across the page and drew a cross on the timeline. And then I drew a straight line on an angle from the triangle to the cross, representing the place where God put all that Adam and Eve deserved on his Son. Jesus was made “…to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Then he said, “When I chose this, Adam and Eve, and with them all of humanity, was given grace and mercy to be lifted up into life again; not because they deserved it, but because I loved them.” As I was saying these things, I drew a line from the circle of death and judgment up to the straight timeline that was completed to the right of the page. Then, I drew the stick figures of Adam and Eve on the line.

Illustration 6abHe continued, and I continued, “Now, in this state of grace they would be given many opportunities to hear my story of salvation, see Jesus on the cross, and exercise their free-will to believe in my Son Jesus. If they choose to receive and believe, they will receive eternal life and walk in forgiveness. But if they choose not to believe, they will die in their sin, and be sent to hell with the fallen angels.”

Tell her “I took the second choice, and took her sin on myself, and took all of my righteous anger and justice out on my son on the cross. And now, everything adds up in my universe again. I and my Son paid what she could not. It was her sin and her father’s sin that I took to the cross.”

We then said, “Now your father is lying in that fallen place of death and condemnation, deserving total annihilation. When you were in this same place of sin, I took your offense on myself, carried it to the cross and left it there. Will you take your father’s sin on yourself, carry your father’s offense to the cross and leave it there? This is how she can act just like me.” Her tears started to roll down her cheeks. She hung her head to think and process what she had heard.

After a few moments I asked, “Do you want your father to be condemned to hell forever for what he has done to you?”

It felt almost like an eruption when she exclaimed, “No… He is my dad!” Then I saw a light come into her eyes. She lifted up her head and said, “Thank you, I can forgive him now.” When she chose to forgive, her burden was lifted, and she was free. Through wisdom, this lady received an entirely new perspective of her life purpose and she was shown how to forgive. She built a foundation for truth and wisdom for her life when she chose to act.

This is an story taken as a segment out of Steve’s new book coming out soon entitled: Imagine… unlocking the power to create

The Faith of God

A woman came who was beaten down, accused and condemning herself. She was afflicted with Fibromyalgia. As the word of God was proclaimed and I laid hands on her, the Spirit of God hit her and broke the power of sickness and I saw this disease leave her body. This disease had entered through a trauma that she had experienced. But this night she was healed in Jesus name. The creator of heaven and earth is saying right now, "It is time for you to be healed!"
In the Healing Rooms we are experiencing new surges of healing power. I believe this is the faith of God that has been prophesied by one of God’s mantle prophets, Bob Jones. Bob, a prophetic father said in 1999, “...the 2000’s will reveal the Glory of God, the 2010’s will reveal the faith of God...” through the body of Christ into the world. What is the faith of God? The faith of God is you entering into his faith. Instead of you trying to believe your hardest, you will surrender to his living word, creative power and enter into his extraordinary faith.

This is in agreement with Jesus when he said in Mark 11, “Have faith in God.” Which is better translated, “Have the faith of God!” Then a few moments later Jesus says,   “…What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Agreement between God and man releases miracle power. What do you need? Enter the faith of God and receive. It is important that the mind of those seeking the faith of God be “renewed” to bring harmony with the mind of Christ. You will not be able to go beyond the limits of your own thinking. “As a man thinks in his heart so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7)

In waking sleep one morning the Lord said, “Steve, what would it be like if you really had the mind of Christ…?” As he was saying this I heard my own soul say, “The scripture says I already have the mind of Christ.” But then for a split second I experienced the atmosphere of his mind… a doubt free total confident assurance of all the Father gives he can do and he will do. The sense of complete and utter possibility with no lack or limit.” Healing… No doubt. Miracles… No problem. God’s word…. Fully given and completely manifested.

How do you enter this faith?

1. What you behold you become. Choose to see Jesus dying on a cross for your sin and say, “Lord Jesus I believe that you died for my unbelief, and my sin. Lord Jesus I believe that God raised you from the dead. You are the Son of God. I believe.” Keep your eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12:2  says, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…”

2. What you receive you believe. Choose to receive the word of God as absolute truth even when you do not understand it. Now say, “Lord Jesus, I confess that you are my Savior, and I give you my heart and life right now. I receive you into my heart right now!”  “As many as receive him… to them gave he power…” (John 1:12)

3. What you believe you experience. Choose to believe  his word until he changes your experience. Now say, “Lord Jesus, I enter your faith right now. Will you take my heart and show me how to walk in your faith? I receive the experience of the faith of God.” Abraham “…called those things which are not as though they were…” Romans 4:17

As you enter the faith of God, healing becomes a part of you. A young man came into the Healing Rooms of Asheville, after he had been examined by three doctors and diagnosed with a tumor in his kidney.  During ministry, he felt the power of God move across his back and he knew he was healed.  The MRI on the next Wednesday was proof positive that God had indeed healed him.

Your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and therefore belongs to God. When disease comes into your body it is trespassing and must be told, “GO… in Jesus name.” The scriptures say, “The kingdom (rule and reign)  of God suffers violence (conflict)  and the violent take it (our healing) by force.  (Matthew 11:12, Italics’ mine)

John G. Lake, the man God used to start the Healing Rooms in 1915, received this vision. “I can see… that there is coming from heaven a new manifestation of the Holy Spirit in power, and that new manifestation will be in sweetness, in love, in tenderness,… beyond anything your heart or mine ever saw. The very lightning of God will flash through men’s souls….”
